Then Sings My Soul Saturdays

On this past Thankful Thursday the theme was Dancing. The scripture Iris used was:

“Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King! Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre! For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.” ~ Psalm 149:2-4

There is nothing I enjoy more then praising God with all my heart, soul and body!

This video is taken from a youth event at our church last year. Each year thousands of teens from all over the country come to our annual Deluge Conference to get drenched in God’s word and in His presence. We have some really radical on fire youth and adults as well! (Remember to turn off my music player before starting the video)

I love the freedom we have in Christ! We can get excited at sports events, concerts, and then come to church and feel like we need to be still. David was a radical worshipper, the word says:

“And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment” 2 Samuel 6:14

  1. Cool. I love seeing youth praising the Lord. I've got two (almost 3) teens of my own. This generation of kids is awesome. I saved this post in my bookmarks and I'll have my kids watch it in the morning.

  6. Okay, wishing back to my high school years! Some of my fondest memories of growing in faith were from high school youth gatherings...25,000 teens in New Orleans back in 1992! Talk about the Spirit showing up in a mighty way!

Have a sunny, warm weekend :D

  13. I played this for my kids, like I said. They were bobbing their heads a bit and smiling when the guy jumped into the audience twice. I think they liked it. They don't show their excitement like a 38 year old woman does. Even if they think something is cool, they tend to keep quiet and calm. Then I had to go and be a Mom and explain what I thought the song meant. I am not very cool.

  14. Fantastic Susan! Makes me feel young again. I'm a dancer (all kinds) and I hope I never grow to old to "cut a rug."

It's great to see young men expressing themselves through dance. These guys don't seem the least bit self-concious, like so many men do. Lots of young Davids!

Thanks for a great post, as usual.

    Blessings, e-Mom

  15. I loved this video, Susan! Thanks for sharing.

By the way, now that you have mentioned that there is a story to tell about my name and how you met your husband, my curiousty is piqued. That sounds like a neat story!
    Happy almost Sunday,
    Stephanie
