Got Joy?

Many times in my Christian walk I’ve prayed and asked God about His perfect will for my life. 

I’ve often asked the hard questions.  Then waited, wondered and even worried about what His reply might be.

But it seems I keep coming back to this very same verse in 1 Thessalonians 5:16…

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's Will for you in Christ Jesus.”

No matter where you might be in your journey right now, God’s will remains the same… “Be Joyful Always.” Joy doesn't always mean happy, but it does mean grateful and thankful in spite of the circumstances.

Take time today to meditate on this amazing verse.  See what God is saying to you.

Beth Moore had a summer bible study for all her Siesta’s. I was so blessed to do this with my daughter in love and best friend Cyndy.  We are concluding this awesome study this week. 

 

After arriving at a doctor’s apt. on the wrong day, I got a phone call from my friend who asked if I wanted to go shopping with her.  Wow…the day turned right around and we had a such wonderful time.  I’m so grateful for our special friendship!

 

  

I found this neat bowling set for my grands.  They love to play with them every time they come over to visit with Grammy and Popsy!

 

We took Kayla to Build-A-Bear as a special reward she received from the owners for taking care of their cute little puppy that was lost.   After much deliberation she choose this huggable little bear she named Cuddles.

 

Woke up to find this little note next to a cup of tea my husband made for me before he left for work.  Oh, it’s the little things that mean so much.  I’m still crazy in love after almost 32 years.

 

Had my granddaughter Grace over for the weekend.  I’m so sad school is about to start.

 

After an awesome lunch with my son and his family we stopped at Lowe’s to pick up a few things on the way back home.  I had to take a second look when we pulled up next to this vintage 1964 Mustang convertible!!

Had my granddaughters over the weekend.  We bought them Candy Lane.  We played it over and over and over again!   That little blue man became like a friend to me.

What busy, but awesome week we had!  I just the love the summer and all the great times we are getting to spend with our grandchildren.  Only four weeks left before school starts once again.  Trying to cram in as many good times as we can. 

 

  I picked up these flowers while I was at the grocery store.  I loved the colors, and they were such a nice way to brighten up my table!

 

My precious little grandson.  He just loves wearing his baseball hat.  He’s all boy for sure.

 

My son was cutting the grass when I snuck in this picture. I love the way the sun was shinning on his face.

 

I had fun snapping a few pictures of Jordan.  Oh, he’s so handsome and just the sweetest young man.

 

The girls had a ball on this bouncy jumper.  They were not at all afraid.

 

We recently bought the girls Candy Lane.  Oh my…what fun we had playing this game.  Over and over and over!

 

Had my my family over for dinner on Sunday.  What a great day it turned out to be.  I especially enjoyed spending time with my niece who was in town from Phoenix.

Four Handsome Single Sons!

 

 

When I saw this week’s theme on Show Us Your Life, I knew I had to join in.  As the mother of 5 sons it’s been an amazing journey.  First, I thought I’d show you some pictures of what they looked like when they were young.  I’m sure many of you reading this are parents of young children.  Ladies, there is life beyond the difficult days of raising young children.  Before you know it they will be teenagers and then leaving for college.  It seems like in the blink of an eye they were all grown.  So enjoy the time you have with them, and use your time wisely.  

And a note to the single girls that will be viewing this… I’ve been praying that God would send each of them a special woman who above all else, loves Jesus with all her heart!

OK ladies I’d like to introduce bachelor number one.  This is my baby.  Joel David graduated last year from high school. (sigh)   Joel is 19 years old.  He loves music, movies, and dreams of being a videographer one day.  Joel also loves paintball, and is a TRUE New Orleans Saints fan!  Oops, that gives away where we are from! Who Dat?

Bachelor number 2 is Jordan.  As you can see, Jordan is another Saints fan!  (OK, all my son’s love football!) Jordan is a people person.  He has a really tender heart.  Another special thing about Jordan is, he is a brain tumor survivor! 

Diagnosed at age 16, he has been through a lot.  Jordan is a patient at St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, where he goes back for check ups every 6 months.   He amazed us all the way he came through treatment.  He is our hero for sure!

Jordan loves worship music, going to church, and out to eat!  He is completely sold out to Jesus!  Jordan is 24.

Bachelor number 3 is Joseph.  Ladies if you like adventure, he’s the man!  Joseph recently returned home from a 2 year adventure around the world.  He started in Taiwan teaching English and also taught in Thailand and Turkey.  In all, he traveled to 38 countries and crossed 4 continents, finally ending his trip in western Europe. 

Joseph loves to read and he plays the guitar.  There isn’t anything he doesn’t enjoy doing. Traveling is not a problem for him, and he is always ready to go!  I can’t wait to meet the woman who captures this wonderer’s heart!  Joseph is 26.

Bachelor number 4 is Justin.  Justin is a lead guitar player in a Christian rock band.  They just signed a recording contract and will begin a nation wide tour in September. 

He loves music, football and hanging out with his friends. Justin is 28.

And finally ladies I’ve saved the best for last.  Yes here is the youngest single guy in our family.  Watch out ladies, because he’s a real “hunk”! 

Cole loves to play, swim, and push his lawnmower all around the yard.  He also enjoys throwing his football, and playing with his sisters.  Cole is 18 months old. 

 

 

 

 

It will be fun having my son’s check out all the single girls that post.

Kelly if you are reading this, I want you to know I showed my grandson, Cole, Harper’s picture.  He just loved her pacifier and got very excited when he saw her darling face. He also loves all her outfits too.  Who knows, it may be a match made in heaven.

This verse in Song of Solomon was one of the first songs I learned as a young Christian.

It seems like only yesterday I was teaching it to my children. 

And now, I couldn’t help but be reminded of it when I took this picture of my precious grandson, Cole.

 How reassuring to know we have such a covering of love!

My granddaughter came to spend the week with us.  We had so much fun playing games, shopping, swimming and just hanging out. 

She is finally getting a little aggravated  tired of Grammy and her camera, but I still got a few good shots before she left to go home.  She’s growing up right before my eyes.

Oh, I just love my little helper Karli.  She wanted to water the plants in the backyard for Grammy and to wear her boots in case she got wet! 

 

I saw this at the store the other day and thought I’d give it a try.  Hmmm, not bad at all.  Nice quick meal.  Just add a salad and some garlic bread.  Bon Appétit!

 

My granddaughter Grace came to spend the week with us.  She has made lots of friends with the children in our neighborhood.  Kiki and her brother are like family now.

 

 

Took the gang out to lunch and they got so excited when the cow came out at Chick-fl-a! It was cow appreciation day.  K-Love was also there and the girls had fun playing games and won some neat prizes too.  We had such a great time.

 

My precious little Cole playing with the monkey his sister won at Chick-fil-a.  I love my grandSON!

 

The girls slept over so we had a “slumber party”.  Before they went to bed they decided to throw a fashion show for Grammy.  They were so funny.

 

We celebrated Jim’s birthday with an awesome steak dinner.  Jim and his wife Cindy are such special friends to us.  We’ve been knowing each other for over 28 years.  We only appreciate them more as the time goes by.  Happy Birthday Jim, we love you!!!
