The Importance of Walking as Exercise
I recently start taking a walk in the evening with my husband. I desperately really need to get in shape! When I received this email I had to laugh. Hope you enjoy these great benefits for walking!
♥ Each time you go for a walk, you can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month.
♥ My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is.
♥ I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
♥ I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
♥ I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.
♥ Every time I hear or say the dirty word exercise, I wash my mouth out with chocolate.
♥ I do have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
♥ I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years, just to get over the hill.
♥ We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
♥ They say you can't really know someone until you walk a mile in their shoes. I say if they've got itsy-bitsy feet or some kind of foot disease, I don't wanna know 'em!
Join us today over at The Homesteaders Heart for more fun and laughter! (Don’t we all need it?)

ReplyDeleteHehe! As a matter of fact, I was supposed to be heading to the YMCA for a little exercise when I decided to read your blog instead. AND I am wanting wash my mouth out with the Hershey Kisses that are downstairs for even thinking about working out. Phew...glad the urge to go exercise has passed!
ReplyDeleteI will go walking, IF you go walking. We can't walk together, but we can both go for a walk, right?
This is perfect for me today! I'm laughing because I was going to go to the gym. Instead I went outside and took pictures. Does that burn calories focusing on objects? Ha..
ReplyDeleteI LOVED that! I think I NEED to wash my mouth out with chocolate...just because it seems like the BEST thing to do!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, I love this! I especially liked the one about not being able to find the grandpa! LOL! Thanks for the laughs!

ReplyDeleteI must share them with my husband later tonight!
I especially appreciate the washing with chocolate.
We shall be eating said washing agent together in bed when I share these with him! hehehe
:)
The nursing home one had me cracking up. Who needs to spend the extra money for that. Such a good reason not to walk.
ReplyDeleteThose were too funny . . . especially since I have had no motivation to exercise lately. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry I haven't been by lately. I got drawn into the world of FB and haven't been able to figure out how to keep up with both blogging & FB. :) FB is just so much quicker - but I NEED your blogging posts - always so inspirational.
LOVE the picture of your grandson in the post below. Can he get any cuter?
Hope you have a beautiful weekend with your family. Keep walking! :)
LOL! Love 'em! And am going to live by them...

OK, thanks, Susan. The first time I meet you, you have successfully gotten my children to think I'm even more weird than they thought before.
ReplyDeleteI read this walking list aloud to them because they wanted to know why I was laughing. Now they're staring at me with eyes that say, "Yeah, Mom. Whatever."
Thanks, Susan. I needed that.
*big grin*
These are funny, Susan! I'm a BIG walker.. definitely my exercise of choice.
