I Choose Life

 Cole7

(picture of my beautiful grandson Cole!)

In making a covenant with His people, God made an interesting statement. He said, "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live . . ." (Deuteronomy 30:19). It's amazing that some people consciously choose death.

But that is essentially what we do when we decide to go against God and His Word.

I must admit to you that sin can be very appealing. Because of the short-term pleasures sin brings, we often don't think of its long-term repercussions. I ask you right now, is your sin forgiven? Or are you without that hope, without that knowledge that your sin is forgiven? Until you deal with your sin, it's as if you have erected a wall between you and your God. There is an old saying, "If you feel you are far from God, guess who moved?" God hasn't gone anywhere. But perhaps we have. Perhaps we have let our sin separate us from Him.

We may pray, we may try to draw close to the Lord, but the sin we have not dealt with must be confessed before we can find the forgiveness God wants us to experience. God does and God will forgive sin. He can and will forgive your sin. Choose forgiveness, choose life.

  2. Susan, he is just a living doll! So precious! I love the Scripture you chose and the post to go with it. Praise God that though the choice isn't always easy (sin is so enticing) that through Him we can choose life and surrender our sin to Him. Great post, my friend! Don't you just love Greg Laurie? Happy WFW!

  15. Amen, Sister! Keep preachin!!

This post kind of makes me think of this stem cell research issue. Our new President does NOT value life and it's PAINFULLY obvious! There has been SO MUCH LEARNED by studying the cells from LIVING people.. why MUST we encourage abortion in ANY small way? Our country has GOT to wake up and see how GOD VALUES EACH AND EVERY soul. So sad...

Even so, come SOON LORD JESUS!

  17. Cute cute picture. I most certainly choose life. "God knew who we were even before creation"

Your right Tonya, we have a congress/President that apparently does NOT value human life. We will be held responsible for ALL of the children that we abort. I cannot see it as God's plan to end a life and all of it's generations that could have followed.

  21. Susan:
This scripture from Deuteronomy was one that I memorized in February as part of Beth Moore's scripture challenge. So critical that we know the choice that God has set before us...blessings and curses, death and life!

I choose life with Jesus! Thanks for checking in with me. I've had several crazy weeks in a row and hope to be more consistent with my visits in days to come.
