The Gymnasium of the Soul!

Godliness

Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we've thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We're banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers.   (I Tim. 4:7 The Message)

As we approach the New Year everyone is in the mood to make some resolutions.  What better time then now to decide that your highest priority will be to seek after Him with a greater zeal and determination then ever before!

Monday

Received a special package in the mail.   My sweet niece returned  my Christmas dress I wore as child.  She wore this dress and her two daughters as well.  Now, my granddaughters will have this.  Truly a treasure.

Tuesday

Had a fun day of baking and finishing up my Christmas goodies.  Jordan asked if he could help out.  He was so excited to make his first cake.  It came out delicious.

wed

Gathered up all my gifts to give out this year.  Oh the joys of Christmas!

Thursday

My son Joel was sitting outside when I came out with the camera.   He told me not to put this on my blog.  Shhhh, it’s our secret.

Friday

Christmas eve.  Spent the day cooking and cleaning.   We went to a wonderful service at church that night.  A nice relaxing evening!

Jordanchristmas

There were so many special moments Christmas day as we celebrated with our family.  My son Jordan was anxious to open his gifts before they arrived.  His reaction to his I Touch was just priceless.  Truly this made my Christmas.

Sunday

The girls slept over Christmas night.  We took them to the mall on Sunday.  The place was packed!   They are so much fun together.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy New Year!

Let It Shine!

Countless people all over the world are living in a deep darkness caused by the many things that have them bound.

I’m so grateful for Jesus and the marvelous light that he pours into the hearts of those who put their trust in him alone.

Are you ready to carry that same light into the darkness of your communities, work place, and families?

I can’t think of a better time than during this season as we celebrate the birth of Christ.   His purpose is our purpose, and His light is our light.  What better gift is their to give someone you truly care about than the gift of Gods light found only in the person of Jesus Christ.

Blessings to you and your family this Christmas as we celebrate the Light that has come into the world!!

Monday

Started the week out making my famous Christmas pecan pralines.  These are oh so yummy.  I use to make this candy on the stove top the hard way until I discovered this wonderful microwave recipe.  Take a look right here!

Tuesday

Went to my son and daughter in love’s house for a quick bite to eat before we headed out to a Christmas program for Kayla.  Couldn’t resist this sweet shot of my precious Karli in front of her Christmas tree.

Wednesday

Grabbed my hubby for this quick shot for my picture for the day.  We were headed out to run errands after he came home from work.   Yep, we are all truly Labreeziana’s down here.

Thursday

Although we are in December, we have been having some gorgeous spring like days!  Grace was outside on the trampoline having fun.  Loved the way her hair looked spiked as she was jumping up and down.

Friday

I decided to change my lens and put on a prime.  I asked Jordan to stop a minute so I could take a picture.  He’s such a sweetie.

Saturday

The kids came over to spend a day.   Cole was excited about wearing his antlers.  I asked them to stop a minute and smile for Grammy.  Now,  isn’t that the cutest “cheeze” you’ve seen!

Sunday

Spent the afternoon baking with my daughter in love, while the guys watched the Saints game.   She needed to make 25 angle food  cakes to give as gifts for her room moms, and some other staff at her school.    They came out so nice and tasted really good!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Merry Christmas to you all!

Project 365 - My Week in Pictures

Monday

My husband’s favorite way to start the week.  Monday night football.  Need I say more?

Tuesday

Don’t you just love Christmas decorations?  I thought my snowman looked so happy on the kitchen table.

Wednesday

Normally I enjoy catching my sweet Karli smile and laugh, but I could pass up this precious pouty face.  Her sister was not playing with her and she was very sad.  Even this face can melt a Grammy’s heart!  She could have used a little dose of “Joy” !

concertnight

Had fun going to the Trans Siberian Orchestra Concert with my son Joseph in New Orleans.  Could not pass up some delicious beignets for a late night treat in the French Quarter.  My son left for Mexico the following morning.  After visiting over 38 countries last year, he now wants to see South America.  Lord keep watch over him.

My sweet neighbor Debra invited Jordan to go to her son’s basketball game.  He had a fun watching them play.  Great shot Debra!  Thanks♥

We went to see my granddaughter’s kindergarten class perform some Christmas carols.  How exciting it was to see her beautiful face lighting up the stage.   We also had a chance to visit with Santa.

Sunday

After taking her bath Kayla wanted to wear the Santa hat I recently bought.  Now doesn’t she make a precious little Santa’s helper?

Thanks so much for dropping by!  Hope your holidays are going great for you.

Lessons from the Playground

Even as we grow older Jesus is telling us that we should never lose the beauty of innocence as seen in the eyes of a child.

Often our lives become so cluttered and complicated that we forget what it is like to have a childlike faith and trust in God.

My grandchildren keep me constantly reminded of the simplicity of a life that is filled with joy and laughter.

No wonder Jesus used this perfect example to call us to a life that is marked by a total dependence upon Him.

Lord, teach me to trust you all the days of my life.  Give me eyes that focus on you daily and a peace that comes from leaning close to your heart.  Thank you Father for being there for me, watching over and protecting my my family.  You are faithful, and you are true.  I love you Jesus.

Project 365-My Week In Pictures

Monday

Took my grandchildren to see Santa at the mall.  The timing could not have been more perfect.  No lines and lots of time to discuss what was on their lists.  The guy working the booth was so gracious to allow me to take a few shots of my own photo’s, as well as the ones we purchased.    Oh the joy of Christmas!

Tuesday

Grace was having fun trying on hats and ear-mittens at Penny’s.  She looked so cute in this one.  I wonder if Santa will bring her one just like it?

Wednesday2

My sweet friend Tonya sent me this chocolate covered apple, along with a delicious cake in a jar.  Oh my…to have a special friend like her is a gift I treasure daily.  Yep, she spoils me, what can I say?  Thanks again Tonya, it was AWESOME!

Thursday

We finally concluded our Study on Revelations by Beth Moore.  Oh…what can I say?  This study was so interesting and loaded with lots of “revelation” for sure.  I was sorry to see it end.  Looking forward to our next study in the New Year.

Friday

Grace came for the weekend.  She was all excited about trying on her new dress for the tea.   We also practiced how to hold her tea cup.  She looked so beautiful!

Tea2010

Each year I host a Christmas Tea for some of my close friends and family at the English Tea Room.  We had such a great time of fellowship and fun this year.  My granddaughter, Karli, also celebrated her 4th birthday this year at the tea.  She was four on the fourth! Her golden birthday.  Karli was so excited when she got her new doll.

Sunday

Took the girls to see Tangled and out for a quick bite to eat at Burger King.  If you haven’t seen this movie, it’s a MUST!  I don’t know who enjoyed it more, my granddaughters or me.   Here is Kayla playing at the restaurant after the movie.  These kids are so full of energy.
