Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
(Prov 31:30)
With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, I thought I’d take a minute to honor my wonderful mother.
I was only a young mom with 4 children when the Lord called her home.
Although its been many years since then, there hardly isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think of her or remember some of the many things she taught me.
Even when I cook one of her special dishes my sisters will often say, “That tastes just like mom’s.”
Ladies whether we realize it or not, we are instilling so much into the lives of our children every day. What an awesome and tremendous privilege we have been given.
Use your time wisely. Live your life in the fear of the Lord, and remember – someone is watching.
With love to all you!
Lord I lift up all the mothers out there that are serving You and their families daily. I pray that You would pour out Your blessings upon all of our lives. Guide us each day and teach us how to be women that understand what it means to fear and serve You. May our children rise up and call us blessed. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

A good word, my friend. I want my children to have an "in memory of..." moment in their futures when they can look back and reflect upon the treasure of our time together. I'm working hard on making it all count, Susan. All of it. Even the less lovely moments along the way.

Blessings sweet Susan and Happy Mother's Day! A well chosen tribute to a wonderful woman...your mom and the reflection you are of her! Beautiful Word! Beautiful tribute & love to honor...moms! Thanks for the beautiful prayer and wisdom! Though not a biological mom, my heart is always for the children I had the privilege to touch their lives in my classroom, and in my home... through adoption of two & many foster kids. My arms have been empty for quite some time but my heart is always full as I think of my mom & other moms like you, who are true blessings from God!

Praying!
ReplyDeleteEphesians 3:14-19 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

ReplyDeleteAlways praying in Seattle!
Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
