St. Jude- Giving Thanks!

 

 

The last week of August my husband and I went to St. Jude with my son for his 3 month check.

For those of you who don’t know, Jordan is a brain tumor survivor.

 

 

He was treated at St. Jude 7 years years ago, and continues to beat all the odds.

 

 

For this we give thanks daily! 

 

 

We are from Louisiana and had a visitor heading our way during that very week we were at St. Jude.  His name was Hurricane Isaac!

 

Because of the storm, my son, daughter in love and family came up to stay with us in Memphis.

They have been wanting to visit St. Jude for some time, and this was the perfect opportunity.

 

 

Jordan loved the company of having his two nieces with him while we were in Memphis.

 

 

St. Jude is one amazing place of hope! 

 

 

Did you know that September is the Childhood Cancer Awareness month?

 

 

On average, 46 kids are diagnosed with pediatric cancer…Every. Single. Day.  And 7 more will die from it!  Those are alarming statistics!

 

These were the kinds of things we were never aware of until we heard those dreadful words 8 years ago, “Your son has a brain tumor!”.

 

 

But for now we can celebrate the great news that everything is stable, and we don’t need to go back until February. 

 

 

Thank God for the vision Danny Thomas had and the promise he made.

 

 

On September 24th Chili’s will donate 100% of their profits nationwide to St. Jude.  Please join us for a night out to have dinner, and at the same time help support this great cause to raise funds for research.  We must find a cure!

My precious Kayla brings us so much Joy!

 

 

We took the kids to the YMCA this week, to try and find a little relief from the 100 degree weather.

 

 

The water felt so wonderful!

 

 

We got there at the perfect time, and had the pool all to ourselves.

 

 

While eating a snack Kayla lost another tooth! Now that should be worth a few dollars.

 

 

And I got this adorable shot of my precious Karli and her huge smile.

 

 

Now Cole just steals my heart.  He is absolutely the sweetest little boy,

We are making so many special memories to cherish!

Summer Fun!

 

 

I have always loved hydrangeas.   I was so excited when my next door neighbor's mother sent me a cutting from her garden last year.  I planted it and was so surprised when it produced this beautiful bloom.  Thanks again Deb!

 

I had the girls over for 5 days and we had so much fun.

 

 

Each day we had to drop off my son at the mall for work.  So we made some time to squeeze in a little fun since we were already there.  There was no problems with that!

 

 

Yes, and they still love riding the carrousel!

 

 

 

And they played on the slip and slide to cool off on these summer days.  Oh my, it has been so HOT!

 

 

One day we all met Popsy for dinner after work at the girls favorite restaurant.

 

We sang and danced until late at night! These those girls have some energy.  But Grammy kept up!

 

 

And on Sunday Karli was so happy that see got to see her big sister. She really missed her!

 

Finally, all the girls were back together again!

 

What Grandchildren Do…

 

 

They melt your heart…with only one glance!

 

 

They make you smile.

 

 

They give us hope.

 

 

 

They make us laugh.

 

 

 

They teach us many things.

 

 

 

They lift our spirits.

 

 

 

 

 

They know how to have fun.

 

 

 

 

They remind us of what really matters.

 

 

 

They know how to be silly.

 

 

 

They never cease to amaze us.

 

 

 

They challenge us.

 

 

 

They shower us with love.

 

 

 

They make us think.

 

 

 

They bring us joy.

 

 

 

They touch our hearts.  They make us special.  I’m forever grateful for this special gift!
