Surrounded by Him

WFWlogo

WFW3

Where does such trust come from?

Feeding daily on God’s Word!

Nehemiah’s wall builders were surrounded by enemies, yet they were able to “celebrate…because they understood the word which had been made known to them” (Ne 8:12 ).

No matter what trials or tests you are facing, God is there surrounding you with His great love and protection.

He is faithful & true, and His Word brings confidence, hope and healing.

All we really need to do is hold on to His promises, and put our TRUST in Him!

Got any plans?

WFWlogo

number our days

As I was thinking about this scripture, I realized that there is one thing we all have been given…time.  We don't know how long our time on this earth will last.

So, why are we here? What is our purpose? What is God’s plan, and how should we be living?

According to Scripture, we are here to glorify God.  We exist to bring honor to the One who made us.

The Bible tells us that we should “redeem the time because the days are evil.” (see Ephesians 5:16).

Do you have a plan to make TODAY count?

Thirty one years ago today God blessed my husband and I with a beautiful baby boy.  This was a moment we will treasure forever, our first born son.

Now Jason is now the father of three, and a 1st Lieutenant in the Army.  He has worked so hard, and we couldn’t be more proud of him.

Could not be a more sweet shot for us!

Happy Birthday Jason!

He is Very Present

WFWlogo

Help

“God is…a very present help in trouble.” Ps 46:1

Randy Reid, a thirty-four-year-old construction worker, was welding on top of a nearly completed water tower outside Chicago.

According to writer Melissa Ramsdell, Reid unhooked his safely gear to reach for some pipes when a metal cage slipped and bumped the scaffolding on which he stood.

It tipped, and Reid lost his balance. He fell 110 feet landing face down on a pile of dirt, just missing rocks and construction debris.

A fellow worker called 911. When paramedics arrived they found Reid conscious, moving, and complaining of a sore back. Apparently the fall didn’t cost Reid his sense of humor.

As paramedics carried him on a backboard to the ambulance, Reid had one request: “Don’t drop me.” (Doctors later said Reid came away from the accident with just a bruised leg.)

Sometimes we resemble Randy Reid. God protects us from harm in a 110-foot fall, yet we are not willing to trust Him to get us over the next two-foot hurdle.

What’s the answer? “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Note the words “very present.”

When we hit life’s rough spots our tendency is to feel abandoned, yet the opposite is true. At that very moment we are more than ever the object of His love and concern.  (By Rick Godwin)

Yes, even when our vision is blurred, our thinking foggy, our faith fleeting, and we look up and can’t see Him clearly—He is “very present.”

Thank you Lord for always being there, even when we have our doubts, fears and worries.  I’m so grateful to know you are truly very present. Make yourself known to all who are struggling today. In Jesus name, amen.

Memorial Day.  A quiet day at home.  My husband didn’t have off for this holiday, but he put a flag up to honor the brave men and women who sacrificed for our freedom.  We are grateful also for our son and all the troops who are out there now serving our nation.

Tuesday

My precious grandson Cole.  He never takes that smile off his face!

Flyers, Walkers and Runners…

WFWlogo

Oh, I’m so excited about the new home for WFW!!  If you have not visited the Internet Cafe, please join us today!

Soar

They will soar…They will run…They will walk.” Isa 40:31

Watchman Nee wrote a best-selling book entitled The Normal Christian Life.

Why such a title?

Because only when you understand what’s “normal” in Christian living, will you be able to recognize which season you’re in, evaluate your circumstances accurately, and adjust.

At one point Paul raises a man from the dead; at another point he writes, “We despaired even of life” (2Co 1:8).

The Bible says, “Elijah was a man just like us” (Jas 5:17 NIV). Yet one day he’s calling down fire from heaven, the next day he’s suicidal and in the depth of depression.

Now, you can’t use this as an excuse for spiritual lethargy, but you must be discerning.

Faith doesn’t exempt us from life’s seasons; it just enables us to go through them victoriously.

(by Rick Godwin)

But always remember, your ability to soar comes from God.

If you’re a runner: Thank God you’re still in the race.

If you’re a walker: Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Lord thank you for the grace you provide for us in every season of our lives.  You are so faithful and always so near.  Let my life be one that demonstrates your power.  Be glorified during all the many times life is difficult, and when there is joy unspeakable.  My life is truly in your hands.

My granddaughter Grace and I went to the mall.  She loves to stop at this fountain to throw her pennies in.  She was patiently waiting for me to check all the settings on my camera.
