Sweet Shot Tuesday

Spent a rainy day at home with two of my my sweet granddaughters.  We played Sorry, Chutes and Ladders, and then they pulled out Candy Land.

We read books and played UNO.  Finally we decided to get out of the house and take a trip to Target.

I put them in the matching outfits (of course) that I picked up for them the day before.  And before we left I bribed them into a quick little photo shoot.

There is nothing better than learning photography with these little beauties as my subjects.

Monday

My book finally arrived!  I’ve heard so much about this amazing book by Ann at Holy Experience.  I’ve only read the first few chapters, and I’m just spell bound.  It’s a book I know I’ll read over and over again.  If you haven’t got your copy yet, you really need to.  I bought one for my daughter in love, and I’m going to order several more.

Tuesday

Felt like making chocolate chip cookies.  This was a really big one.  Thought the kids would get a kick out it.

wed

Caught this endearing little moment between my son and his bride.  Oh, this makes my heart glad.  I pray they stay madly in love for the rest of their lives.

Thursday

Went out to eat with some of the ladies in my neighborhood, but I forgot my camera.  So I’ll fill in with this shot I caught of Karli at the Zoo.

Friday

Our neighbor's daughter came over to play the other day with the grands.  The sun was setting and the sky was so beautiful.  So I ran out to take some shots of the girls playing.  I really loved her expression in this pic.

Zoo

Spent a wonderful day at the zoo with our family.  The kids had a blast.  I love days like this.

Sunday

After a long hard day at the mall, there’s nothing like a relaxing hot bath to sooth those aching feet.  I thought Kayla looked so cute with her feet up.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I’ll look forward to seeing what your week was like.

By God's Grace You'll Make It!

The Bible speaks of, "Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel…who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong" .

Who were these people? Jephthah, a social outcast born to an unwed mother. Samuel, a great prophet but not a great parent. David, who wrote the Psalms but had an affair.

"Their weakness was turned to strength”.

Notice, they didn't start out strong, they became strong.

And if they can make it, you can make it too!

God chooses to work through people like us to show Himself strong. So no matter what you may be facing, always remember, “their weakness was turned into strength.”

By God’s strength – You’ll make it!

Monday

We sure had a rough start to our week.  My son got a nasty stomach bug.  Because of his medical condition his doctor had him come to the sick room and get some fluids intravenously.  I wish it would have ended with him, but a few days later both I and his younger brother caught it as well.  I’m so glad this is all behind us now.

Tuesday

It was a grey gloomy afternoon.  I stepped out on my back porch to discover all these birds waiting for their evening meal.  My husband always refills our birdfeeder in the evening…and they know when its getting to be that time of day.

wed

I’ve been waiting a long time for the chance to roll up a little girls’ hair.  Being the mom of five sons, I wasn’t sure I ever would.  But now I’ve got my grands, and I enjoy every minute I have with them.  They were so cute and so excited to have it done.  The woke up with beautiful, curly, bouncy hair.

Thursday

We finally started our first bible study of the New Year.   When I heard we were doing this one I got real excited.  A few years ago I had the privilege of attending a Deeper Still Conference in Nashville with some very special St. Jude moms .  Memoires I’ll cherish forever.

Friday

The girls were playing dress up all afternoon.  Could not pass up a quick photo-shoot.  I just love my little sugar plum fairy.

Saturday

Went to dinner at a fabulous restaurant.  My son took this picture of us as we were waiting to be seated.

Sunday

Had the honor of taking some shots of precious little newborn.   Isn’t he just the cutest?

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a blessed day♥

The theme for this week’s challenge is “Innocent Wonder”.

I recently had the opportunity to take some pictures of the most precious little newborn baby boy.

Gabe sleeps most of the time, but when we put him on my bed he woke up and just gazed off toward the window.  So much innocence and wonder is capture in those beautiful eyes.

Project 365- My week in pictures

Monday

Started my week off with a nice big pot of homemade veggie soup.  If I must say so, it was delicious.  This is one of my all time favorites during the winter time.

Tuesday

Took my son Joel to get his hair cut.  I told him I’d take this picture to show him how good it looked.  OK…maybe I didn’t tell him the whole story!  A mom has to do what she has to do…to get a shot sometime.  I just love those big dreamy eyes.

Oh, what great day Wednesday was!  My girlfriend came out to spend an entire day with me.  We started off at the YMCA and did the Hip Hop Class.  What fun.  Then we headed over to Chili’s for an awesome lunch that we had worked really hard for in class.   After that we did a little shopping (of course), and came back to the house and hung out for awhile before she had to leave.  Thanks Cyndy for making my day so special♥

Thursday

Lazy day, I didn’t cook.  So we ordered a pizza and some cheesy-bread from Dominos.   No complaints from the troops.

Friday

Thought I’d pull a lens out of the bag that I rarely use and give it another try.  Caesar is always a ready and willing subject for a little photo shoot.  The problem is, he’s always so serious…I wish I could get him to smile.

Saturday

Well as you can see my husband is recovering quite well from his surgery just three weeks ago.  Didn’t take much prodding from our son Jason to get him back out on the courts.  They were all tied up after eight games, but I think Rick ran out of gas as Jason went on to win the set.  I’m still impressed…

Sunday

Took the grands to play at the  playground that just opened up by our house.  I thought Karli looked so cute in her new dress Grammy got her for Christmas.  She was posing for me when I caught this shot.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll look forward to seeing how your week went.

Project 365- My Week in Pictures

Monday

Well, it’s that time again in Louisiana for King Cakes!!  Yes, its Mardi Gras.  If you’re not familiar with the King Cake, its a New Orleans tradition that dates back to the eighteenth century.  It’s a type of cinnamon sugar French pastry, covered with vanilla icing, and topped with green, purple and yellow sugar crystals.  They also come filled with cream cheese, or raspberry, or my favorite, apple.  Yummy!

.

Dinner2

Had an awesome night of fellowship with my wonderful friend Cyndy and her husband Jim.  We were celebrating our annual Christmas dinner a little late this year.   It’s always a joy getting together with this special couple.

After 29 years of friendship, we’re still going strong.  Thank God for good friends!

wed

I gave this ornament as a Christmas present for my son Jordan.  He hung it up today and put it on his dresser.  This is the kind of Christmas gift that never has to be put up till next year.   Also, one of our favorite scriptures.

Thursday

We had the most beautiful winter sunset on Thursday evening.  I went out just to enjoy and marvel at the handiwork of God.

Friday

Cole got on the carrousel at the mall and it was hard getting him off.  He kept wanting to go round and round.  I can’t get enough of this little boy.  He is just as sweet as the come.

Saturday

Caught Kayla looking at herself in the shoe department.  She’s was practicing her smile for Grammy.  What a doll.

Sunday

My little Karli acting silly in her big sister’s hat.

Please join us over here for more projects.  I’m also linked up to Mommytography too.
