Monday

Took a walk with my hubby on a gorgeous afternoon! Somehow I got him to stop long enough for me to snap a quick shot.

Tuesday

Went to the mall to pick up a few things.  Kayla’s favorite place is the kids play area!

Wednesday

My friend Cyndy came out for the day.  I always look forward to her visits. It’s such a special treat when we get to spend time together.  Love you Cyndy and thanks so much for my awesome birthday gifts.

Thursday

A typical evening in our home.  My three special guys; Jordan, Rick and Caesar chilling out on the sofa!

Friday

Getting some painting done at our home, including refinishing the front doors.  One down, one to go!

Saturday

We went to Kayla’s soccer game and had so much fun watching her play, along with her brother and sister.  She’s really good and can hang with the boys with out a problem!  My son is the coach, and he sure is a proud dad!

Sunday

Got some rain on Sunday.  Cole loves to play in his new boots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a blessed day♥

I snapped this picture as we were leaving  Disney to head to the airport.  Kayla wanted one more look before she left.  I’m sure so many thoughts were swirling in her mind!

Sail on Sailor!

Worry3

“Don’t worry about it.”

Have you ever had those words said to you?  Did it work?  Probably not!

Easy words to say, but impossible hard to put into practice.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve taken residence one too many times in Worryville.

It is kind of interesting that the words anxious and anxiety aren’t found in the Greek.  Usually we find the word worry.

The the Greek word translated do not worry literally means;  to be drawn in different directions.

Worry will  pull us apart from the presence of God.

When we are tempted to worry about things in our life, we need to  look at Philippians 4:6 – it reads “ do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God”.

We need to be praying about every need, situation and problem in our lives.

In 1Peter 5:7 it says cast all your worries on God, because he cares for you.

We can bring our worries and fears to Jesus, and he will exchange them with His peace in all that we need to face every situation.

All the water in the world
However hard it tried,
Could never sink a mighty ship
Unless it gets inside.

Sail on sailor!

Lord, forgive me for all the times I’ve spent worrying about so many things.   Help me to keep my focus on you not the problem but your many provisions you give us daily.  Let my thoughts be directed to your word. Let me learn to take captive of each and every thought.   Father you have everything we have need of, you are faithful and true.  I give thanks and praise to you.

Join us today over at Scripture and a Snapshot for more of the word and pictures.

After sitting in the bathroom watching my granddaughter play with all her little friends in the tub, I thought I’d get my camera and take some shots.

Valentines

What a wonderful way to start the week with Valentine’s Day!  Enjoyed a  romantic night out with the man of my dreams.   34 years of living and loving together.  I’m so grateful for you sweetie♥

Tuesday

Decided to make an angel food cake again.  During the holidays I made so many I got burnt out.  Talk about a yummy light dessert.  It just hit the spot.

Wednesday

Popsy and Kayla were watching the new Disney Video we recently got in the mail.  We’ll be going to Disney World during the Mardi Gras break this year.  The grandkids are just thrilled.  And so are we!

Thursday

Went on a walk in the neighborhood, and stopped to take a picture of these beautiful pansies that are planted by the entrance.  God’s handiwork can be found in every direction you turn.

Friday

Awww, my little sweet-heart Karli smiling for her  Grammy!  I look forward to every visit.  That smile just lights up a room.

Saturday

Took the kids shopping and was so excited to find some new shoes for Cole.  He loved them so much he did not want to take them off.  Doesn’t take much to make him happy.

Sunday

My sweet little Karli slept over all by herself for the first time.  She’s really growing up.  We had the best time together.  We drew lots of pictures, read, played games and she took a really long bath before we snuggled together in bed.  My sleeping beauty.

Macro Friday and A Few of my Favorite Things!

Macro

Do you have a special friend you can share your passion for photography with?  Well, I sure do, and I’m so blessed.  Debra is my wonderful neighbor who also recently started blogging.  Gosh, she took off so fast that I can hardly keep up with her.  You can visit her over here, and see some of her awesome pictures.

Deb brought over some neat filters for my camera this evening, and now I’m able to do some macro photography.

Here is my first try at it.  I think I’m going to have lots of fun, once I really get the hang of it.

Thanks Debra, you are one in a million!

I took a tiny flower and place it on my strawberry plant to add some color.

Favorite things

I also decided to join this new meme.  It’s called “A few of my favorite things”.

While celebrating Valentine’s this week,  I was able to capture some of my favorite things.

The first is roses.  Awww, they are just so pretty.  This is one from a dozen my husband gave me.

Then these conversation hearts.  Oh my, I think I’m addicted.  I know they don’t really taste like much, but once I start eating them it’s just so hard to make myself stop.

And finally, this box of delicious candy.  My husband knows how much I love chocolate with nuts.  So he ordered these chocolates from Sees Candy in California.  Oh my…they are heavenly.  Just what I needed…more sugar.   Thanks Honey, you are the best!

Monday

My granddaughter was making Valentines so I thought I’d catch her in the act!  Isn’t that a beautiful smile?

Tuesday

I finally made the hard decision on what new lens I wanted to buy next, and it arrived today.  Looks like I’m going to have fun with this one!

Wednesday

My 29th birthday came around once again!  Yep, seems like my children are now passing me up in the age department.  Had a wonderful day that ended with a scrumptious steak dinner with my hubby and Jordan.  So grateful for another year.

Thursday

I  got another neat gadget for my camera.  The Lightscoop.  This picture was taken around 11:00pm at night.  My husband and our cat were fast asleep.  The only light on in the room was the lamp next to his chair.  I’m loving the effects already!

Friday

I was so excited to get my table set up for company that was coming on Saturday.   I celebrated my birthday together with some dear friends.  All three of us have February birthdays.  I just loved how the cake turned out.  And talk about delicious!

Saturday

Here we all are after enjoying a wonderful lunch out.  After a quick walk in the neighborhood, we headed out to church, then came back and ate that awesome cake.  What a great night of fellowship!  I’m so blessed to have these special friends in my life.

Sunday

Experimenting with my new lens.  These were a few of the remnants from our birthday party.

The theme for I heart faces is RED in honor of Valentine’s Day.  It is also for a great cause too, Go Red for Women.   I thought this was just the cutest picture of my precious grandson Cole.

Monday

Started the week off with a wonderful little surprise from my hubby.  He stopped at the store for me after work to pick up a few things and brought these beautiful flowers.   What a blessing!  After 33 years, I still feel so giddy when he does sweet things like this.

Tuesday

With all the cold weather this winter, I’ve been enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate in the evenings. My sweet friend Cyndy blessed me with a wonderful assortment of hot chocolate mixes this Christmas, and I’m enjoying every one of them!

Wednesday

Finally made it back to the YMCA again.  It has been 3 weeks since my last “hip-hop” class.  It felt so good to get back into the routine and make time for some much needed exercise!!

Thursday

My sweet granddaughter Grace lost her second tooth this week.  She was so excited to show me.  Oh how I love this toothless grin.

Friday

Well, it’s that time of the year again.  You know what I mean…tax season.  I am so blessed to have my husband to help sort things out.  See that smile?  It just comes natural to him.  What a joyful, giving person he is, and I’m grateful to have a helpmate that makes our lives so much easier.

Saturday

I was so excited that I got “Uncle Joel” to agree to let me take a picture of him with Grace.  I am so blessed to be able to enjoy and capture these special moments.

Sunday

Grace and I had a wonderful “girls day out”.  We went to lunch,  and then to mall for some retail therapy.  She is growing up so quickly.  I have to be careful when I blink my eyes that I don’t miss something.  I cherish our special time together.  I never had any grandparents growing up, so I looked forward to the day when I could be one myself.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Praying you have a great week ahead.
