So Long Insecurity…

WFW4

Welcome to Word-filled Wednesday.

It's such a joy to be your hostess today!

The purpose of WFW is share God's word (no famous quotes or literature...only the word of God)

The home of WFW is at Amy’s The 160 Acre Woods.

*******************************************

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Live Simulcast of Beth Moore's new book, So Long Insecurity.

For months I've been watching the calendar and waiting for the big day!   I met my daughter-in-love there and two other dear friends.   From the anointed praise and worship until the very last words that were prayed, I was so encouraged and richly blessed.

Beth shared how difficult this past year had been for her and out of that, this book was born.  We learned so much as we poured over the word and listened to so many powerful illustrations and testimonies about what it means to live as a secure woman in Christ.

She taught us from the acrostic SECURE.

S - Saved from herself

Our own insecurities are our biggest enemies!

E - Entitled to truth

God’s word of truth brings true freedom.

C - Clothed with intention

We must deliberately put off the old and put on the new!

U - Upended by grace

Grace those around you, like Christ as graced you!

R - Rebounded by love

Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ.

E - Exceptional in life

We can be the exception; we can stand out in our culture!

At the end of our day, Beth had us declare the Commissioning Statement. You can go to her blog and also make this your prayer!

Hi Susan,

I was hoping you would blog about the Simulcast! Thanks for sharing all the things you learned. A dear church friend has been doing Beth's online book study, and enjoying it immensely.

I know Beth had a cancer scare this year. She's so transparent!

Now I'm off to read that commissioning statement.

Happy WFW, and thanks for hosting.

Blessings, e-Mom :~D

Oh, girl, I was there, too!!!!!! Wasn't it AWESOME?????? I truly believe this issue of insecurity is the BIGGEST issue we have in our generation!!!!

I brought my 11 year old daughter. Oh, how I long that this generation sees themselves IN CHRIST! That they would truly believe they are "who God says they are"!

Beautiful WFW!

Love you!

I participated in the SLI online book discussion and was so blessed by it. It's important to remember what makes us secure, isn't it? We look to so many other things that ultimately fail.

Thanks for hostessing WFW!

What a fabulous picture and a perfect verse to go along with it. Of course when we have God with us we should rejoice in ourselves. After all He is the one who has given us ourselves and since we are a gift from him why shouldn't we be happy about that.

Thanks for hosting WFW today! I went to the simulcast, too, and this picture is just perfect! What a perfect way to share God's Word and the message He gave to 300,000 women through Beth...and to think it's spreading like wildfire, how many more are going to hear online!?

I've heard so much about this weekend. A friend from work was sharing this acrostic with me, but she couldn't remember all the meanings. I've printed this off to share with her. Thanks for hosting this week.

Strength and dignity. I find that when I am abiding in Christ that those two qualities become more prominent in me. When I am not, I find that I quickly begin to lose both of them!

Thank you for hosting today! I am fairly new to WFW, but I have already met so many godly sisters in Christ through it! Now if I could just gather you all up and bring you here! (That would be north!)

Then again, I suspect that too much light would leave your states if that were to happen!

Have a blessed week!

Beautiful. I'm so glad you got to go to the meeting. This almost blows me away. My verse and what I wrote is very similar to yours but from a different angle. There are so many people insecure and hurting when all they need to do is give it all to the Father.
Blessings, AE

What a great time, and you are always so good about "capturing" the moment.

I can't even tell you how many times this week I have asked myself (in my head, of course), "Now, Kristin, how would a secure woman respond?" I am acting first, and believing the feelings are on their way! =)

Love you,
Kristin

Oh, I would LOVE to have been there! Beth's SLI teaching hits the mark for us as women and is a timely word - 'fitly spoken, in due season'.
Thanks for sharing it!

Hello, dear Susan! I'm so glad we finally "clicked" in all of our worlds that collide. I still remember your comments on my blogspot blog (the praline recipe is on my wordpress photoblog) when I did a birthday post for Brent a year or two ago. I guess you could say we run in the same circles; now we finally "see" one another. Your blog is wonderful! Beth was here in the ATL, and I heard so many great things about the program from friends who were able to go. Women are powerful, aren't they? And that power can be used to glorify God, or to tear down others or themselves. I suppose we need to be intentional on how we use it; I know I've seen YOU use it in some wonderfully uplifting ways through the years.
Blessed... to be His and to be so loved.. and now to know you!

What a blessing and comfort to have eyewitness testimony of Christ's life. Praying!
I John 1:1-4: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

These verses are so comforting. Continuing to pray!
Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Lifting up prayers!
II Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
