His Masterpiece

wfw-2008

potter7

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT

Each day we can respond to the opportunities God places before us. Not opportunities to be famous, powerful, or rich, but opportunities to glorify Him. These opportunities will often be found amidst the ordinary days, and routine moments of our lives.

Today, God may give you the opportunity to manifest an attitude that reflects what He thinks and feels; to perform an action that expresses what He wants to do in a certain situation; to share words that speak His heart and His truth into someone’s life; to express kindness that extends His grace and mercy to someone in need.  (Devotional by: Roy Lessin)

I received this devotional last month and have been mediating on it ever since.  I do want to be a vessel that brings glory and honor to Jesus each day. I know I may fall short of that target, but I am still determined to make it my life’s goal.

I pray to be more sensitive and discerning when opportunities are given to me to glorify Jesus.  What an awesome privilege it is to show the world how great and powerful our loving Heavenly Father truly is.

Father, here are my hands; please work through them as I yield myself to you. Here is my voice; speak your words through me as I follow your prompting. Here are my feet; guide them in the paths of righteousness as I obey your leading. Here is my heart; fill it with a love that bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

May You be glorified in every trial I face or decisions that I make each day.  Help me to be the masterpiece you predestined me to be. I give all the glory and honor to you.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Please join us over at my wonderful friend and talented Lori at All You Have To Give for more WFW!!

Same verse, but from a different perspective...love the idea of clay in the potter's hands!! Someone else used this verse today, too...God's up to something, isn't He :)

Just like you, my prayer is also to be a vessel through which God's glory will be seen. Thank you for the beautiful post!

He truly is an awesome God. I like your photo and this verse. I especially love the prayer you had at the end. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. In answer to your question, I did not take the photo I used, I retrieved it from morguefile, a site that offers free photos to share and use. There is a link to it on my blog in the sidebar if you are interested. Thanks again and I pray God continues to bless you and your ministry.

I've enjoyed cruising your blog this evening Susan. Busy times for Moms, yes? (Happy Belated Mother's Day!)

A big round of applause for Jordan. Well done, and praise the Lord for his goodness to you and your family.

Praying!
Psalm 17:5-8 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.

Isn't it amazing to think that God has all these plans mapped out for us? A purpose all laid out? I pray I don't miss the gifts because of my own willfulness.

I go all mushy when I see clay and the potters hands.
So often this image has been super real when God has been doing something new in my life.

Comforting to know that God has a purpose for us...So we don't have to come up with one! And that God made us so we know we can fulfill it!

Beautiful picture and verse. He is the potter I am the clay. I think that's a line from a song. I love your prayer and stand in agreement with you. To used by God is one of the things I want most in my life.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I was late getting it on. For some reason I had a hard time finding a verse but then all of a sudden it appeared.

I love this picture and this line "Not opportunities to be famous, powerful, or rich, but opportunities to glorify Him." I believe opportunities are all around us.

Thanking the Lord for sparing my grand baby's life! He used a very observant nurse, a team who literally ran down the hall with my daughter in her bed, and an emergency c-section. The cord had been wrapped rightly around Franklin's neck! The Lord is so gracious!
Continuing to pray!
Psalm 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

This passage is so very special. We have such assurance of our salvation! Eyewitness testimony! Praying!
I John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Know that I'm always here praying!
Psalm 71:5-7: For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

Praying right now!
Psalm 71:14-16 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

Susan,

I'm ALWAYS so blessed when I visit. What a beautiful message and photo. I was captivated the moment I saw the photo and then once I read your heart drew me in.

Our GOD is the Potter and isn't it awesome that His Hands are upon us and that we are His clay being masterfully, lovingly and tenderly shaped by Him?! Amen and Amen!!!

I love you dear one.
