A weekend to remember…

pw IMG_2392

What a great time we had this past weekend! My very best friend of 30 years invited us over for a get together at her house.

pw IMG_2301

Cyndy, Jim, her daughter Hannah and children welcomed us out with open arms and all kinds of fun things to do with lots of wonderful food. Yummy…

Here is Cyndy on “Crepe Way”, a beautiful row of trees she and her husband planted.

After watching our own children play over the years, it was so much fun now seeing our grandchildren doing the same. My oh my how the time has flown by so quickly.

Before we left Cole got to meet Mr. Bear!

Then off we went to celebrate at the Relay for Life Walk-a-Thon. My son Jordan is the handsome guy in the middle helping to carry the banner.

We are so grateful each year that we get to see him walk the Survivors’ Lap. I loved this year’s theme!

There are also many special friends we continue to walk in memory of.  Brent was a very close buddy of Jordan at St. Jude. We’ll always remember how valiantly he fought until Jesus called him home. We’ll never forget Brent and the inspiration he was to all of us!

For this and so many other reasons, we continue to give thanks!

O LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, even purposes planned of old [and fulfilled] in faithfulness and truth. Isaiah 25:1

I walked my first survivor's lap this year... mom and dad cheering me on. So very meaningful. I hadn't anticipated the emotions I would feel.

Glad to see Jordan holding the banner. My prayers are with you.

Always remembering Brent, too!
Stopping by to let you know that you're always in my thoughts and prayers!
Psalms 91:1-2, 4 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (4) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Hello Susan,
I've missed your blog and seeing the photos of your gorgeous grandkids. Look how big Cole is now and the girls are even prettier. So nice too see these family photos and how awesome to have a friend for that long and see your grandchildren growing up together.
I use to stop by on the Project Life Tuesday links and somehow lost touch with you but so happy to see your blog again.
How wonderful to see your son in the walk, how proud you must be of him. He's a great role model to the kids and what a cool cake that is. Glad things are going well for you.
Will check back and see you again soon.

How fun to get together with your dear friend and her family! My favorite is the shot of the grands lined up with the sprinklers spouting. Nice captures of a memorable time!

I love that theme, too! How is it that we are now watching grandchildren play instead of our own little kids? Unbelievable.

Still here praying!
Ephesians 3:16-19 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Praying!
Psalms 18:30-32 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

Lifting up prayers to the Only One who can hear!
Psalms 34:4, 6-7 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (6-7) This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Continuing to lift up prayers!
Psalms 31:5, 7-8 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth (7-8) I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

Know that I'm always here praying!
Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Am sharing two verses today. The second verse is God's own interpretation of the first verse. When dealing with all the "floods" and vehement winds beating upon us, there is only One Sure Foundation. Praying so as you face these "floods."
Luke 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
