Poured Out For Him

The song I have chosen for today is taken from a live worship session at Christ For the Nations Institute in Dallas. For any of you who are not familiar with this awesome training center, it is an interdenominational missionary organization founded by Gordon and Freda Lindsay. My husband and I have always loved this school and have attended many conferences held there over the years.

Something that is very unique to this missionary training school is the powerful praise and worship. Students from every nation are trained not only in the word, but they also grow in their worship life as well. Some of the greatest worship music sung all over the world originated from CFNI.

The Alabaster Jar is an incredible worship song. There is no story in the entire bible that illustrates the heart of true worship better than this one which is found in Mark 14:3:

“Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head.”

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal knowledge of him. For we are to God, the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. (2 Corinthians 2: 14-16).
(Please remember to mute my music!)

This alabaster jar
Is all I have of worth
I break it at Your feet Lord,
,
It's less than You deserve
You're far more beautiful
More precious than the oil
The sum of my desires
and the fullness of my joy!
Like You spilled Your blood,
I spill my heart as an offering
to my King

Chorus:
Here I am, take me
As an offering
Here I am, giving every heartbeat
For Your glory take me
The time that I have left
is all I have of worth
I lay it at Your feet,
Lord It's less than You deserve
And though I've little strength
And though my days are few,
You gave Your life for me
So, I will live my life for You
Worthy, WorthyYou are worthy
Worthy is the Lord

May our lives be the fragrance that leads others to come to the table of grace to offer their hearts in sacrificial surrender to our Father.

Would it be that I could touch him with my tears this day...

Just taking a quick break from yardwork, yardwork, yardwork... prepping for a big going away BBQ for the newlyweds in early July. :~D

Small world! We've been on the Christ For the Nations mailing list for many years. (My husband considered going to school there early in our marriage. He's the evangelist/missionary in our household.)

I'll come back and listen to your song when all my outside chores are done.

I'd LOVE to hear more about your impressions of CFN's conferences and training... a blog post?

Thanks for stopping by today, Susan. You're a doll! :~D

So beautiful! Reminds me that it's when we're broken that the fragrance of HIS life in ours is sensed by others and received as a fragrant offering by our KING!

Thank you!

Good Gravy, Susan! When you come to a CFNI conference we must get together - I am just a hoot and a holler away... FW!

A number of the people on that stage are members of my church (Gateway Church, Southlake, TX) and we worship like that every single week and then some! It is so amazing. (THE CD I HAVE FOR YOU IS GATEWAY WORSHIP's LATEST. Many CFNI alum on the tracks... Kari Jobe, Walker Beach, Zach Neese...Please email me at scottsgirl1998@yahoo.com so I can send it to you.)

Alabastar Jar is one of my daughters' favorite worship songs. My oldest dated and is still very good friends with a talented young man who graduated from CFNI last fall. It amazing to see the work of God in that place. I'm just so excited... sorry! I just love worship and so much the more since I found this Spirit-filled experience at Gateway!

Okay so I have rambled enough. Thank you for your wonderful words of encouragement for the Grieving Moms Blog. I know God is up to something new and it will grow as He wills it. Your prayers and letting those who might benefit from it know would be much appreciated. I love your post about your wedding anniversary! WOW! Beautiful... and such a testimony! God Bless You, I'm gladd we've crossed paths as well.
