Soaring

eaglePrintdetail

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, the eagle sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm.

While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher.

It rises on the winds that bring the storm. When the storms of life come upon us-and all of us will experience them-we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God.

The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.

God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment in our lives.

We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

Indeed. As they say, you cannot choose what happens to you, but you *can* choose how you react to it.

Hi Susan,
Great post. It made me wonder about us... do we know when a storm is coming like the eagle? God has always prepared my heart for major challenges/trials and I am comforted by the reminder that we can rise above them unto Him!
Thanks and blessings, Laurie
(I suppose His Word prepares us as well.) Still pondering...

Blessings sweet Susan...thank you for this EAGLE SOARING POST of my favorite verse and now you tell me this...(lol) after the storm passed.
What's aMazing is that I had posted this verse with an eagle collage at the end of August, not knowing it was God...sending me this image & verse ahead of my hurricane & now I see why! Others shared this verse today as well...must mean there are storms brewing! I'm so thankful that Our Lord's power lifts us above the storm & He protects us when we call on Him! Whatever the storm...let's soar above on eagle's wings!

(are you sick? per lori's comment sending you 'virtual' soup, I'm sending prayers to cover & heal you speedily in Jesus'Name) Thanks for your double visits both to MISSIONS & aMazing Grace!

I meant to tell you that we did enjoy our day trip to New Orleans. I love to see the old architecture and photograph it. And the food is fabulous although Mike Anderson's was closed. We strolled around and drove though the Garden District before heading back to Memphis. Blessings. And I hope you will join in on 5 Things Friday.

I sure have had some storms when I would have preferred a higher perch! Here's hoping to soar because of the storms when they arrive.

Great thoughts, Susan. I just love capturing some nuggets of truth in such a simple analogy.

Praying right now!
Psalms 27:13-14 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
