Making Room For God

In Psalm 132 3-5 it says:

"Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

Our lives are filled each day with activities, tasks, and obligations. On many days I find myself lacking a single free minute. How many times do I get so busy that I leave God out of my life? David says he will not sleep or enter his house until he finds a "place" for the Lord. Is there a place for God in your life today?"

"In the heart, the home, the assembly, the life. Everywhere we must find or make a place for the Lord." -C.H. Spurgeon

Making time for God in our busy lives is so important. I have noticed that I make time for the things I want to make time for. So, I guess it's a matter of how much we want to do it...

Dear Susan, What a wonderful nugget of truth! Even as a stay at home mom and "grammy", if I'm not careful, I become too busy doing "things" for God instead of placing Him first. What a gracious reminder you've left! Needless to say, I'm thrilled with your new site and will visit daily. I'm still rejoicing over Jordan's test and am still standing in the gap for a "total healing and restoration". In Christ, Piper
