Remembering Brent

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
Proverbs 17:17

Today is a very special day for the Nason family. They will celebrate Brentʼs 13th birthday, and what a precious and loving son he was.

Brent went to be with Jesus almost 2 years ago, after he fought a valiant battle with cancer. In the end he won, because in Christ we are more than conquerors, and death is swallowed up in victory. Iʼm sure many of you who read my blog, know what a special friendship Tonya and I share.

I had the honor of meeting Tonya first through Caringbrige, a wonderful Internet community. Tonyaʼs son Brent was in remission at the time and my son Jordan had just completed his radiation treatment. We were both St. Jude momʼs.

I was immediately drawn to Brentʼs site. Tonya was always so bold in her faith and zeal for Jesus. In the midst of fighting this most difficult battle, her faith remained unshaken. It was so easy to love Tonya, Brent and whole the Nason family. God truly brought our lives together.

Iʼve learned so much about what true faith, hope and love really look like as I watched this family stand together and testify to the goodness of God in every circumstance.

I had the awesome privilege of not only reading about how special Brent was, but I got to know really him personally and be touched by his sweet and tender spirit. Brent loved the Lord with a purity and passion that is not often seen. My son Jordan and Brent hit it off immediately, and now itʼs a friendship he will always remember and treasure.

Tonya is honoring Brentʼs giving spirit by hosting a wonderful giveaway at Safe in His Arms. Please stop by and let Tonya know you are thinking of her and the rest of the Nason family today. If you havenʼt yet met Tonya, you are in for a major blessing.

I love you Tonya and Link, and I am so thankful that you shared your precious Brent with us all to know and love. My life will never be the same.

Susan,

I'm sitting here sobbing as I read this... my, what a FRIEND you ARE!

GOD alone KNOWS how I treasure your friendship. We'll never forget how you've walked this road, hand in hand, alongside us.

The human mind cannot understand GOD'S ways..

Isaiah 55:8
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

We DO KNOW that there is NO MORE PAIN, SUFFERING, OR SADDNESS in CHRIST - Brent is NOW EXPERIENCING JOY and HAPPINESS like we can't even imagine.

THANKS SO MUCH for all you've taught me!

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Susan,
I found your blog..How great to see you write about Brent...I have followed many caringbridge kids and he captured my heart, I am not sure if it is because at the time Tonya had 3 boys and I had 3 girls, all the same ages but I miss him terribly too....How is everything with Jordan..

Susan,

I so remember reading on Brent and Jordan's blogs these times when you guys met, etc.

Heaven is truly richer today because of Brent, as are everyone who met, and who have had the pleasure of following his journey.

The world has lost a beautiful young man.

Thanks for sharing this post.

Came over to say congrats. for winning Tracy's 100th post giveway. Now I want to know if you 2 are in cahoots. You know I'm kidding.

Take care and I'm thrilled with Jordan's great results.

Love,
Cheryl

I will go over to her blog in a moment but just wanted to say that I am overjoyed about the good report. This journey has, undoubtedly, shaped your family in unimaginable measure. And while I would never wish the anguish upon anyone, I am thankful for the witness it has given you and for the faith that has grown and will be part of your everlasting story.

You are a blessing to the world, Susan. Walk in that truth for always.

Saying extra prayers for your family, too as you remember Brent. It's so hard losing such a close friend.

Wow! This was so touching in made me cry. What a blessing you are to your sweet friend by remembering.
When people remember people I love that are now living in heaven, it blesses my heart.

It means a lot to the Lord for us to remember Him by doing communion.

Remembering is a sweet way of encouraging one another.

You are a good friend!

Bless you!!!!!

Dear Susan,
Thanks so much for dropping by my blog. I remember well how good a friend you've been to the Nason family, and I've visited Jordan's Caringbridge site more than once from Brent's. How could anyone walk that road alone? I'm so glad Tonya and her family have so many wonderful friends lifting up their arms when they have no strength left. And I am so glad that the Father walks with both of your families. Faith, hope, and love really ARE the big three, and your families share them in abundance.
Blessings...
Pam
